78 DAYS UNTIL I REREAD THE HARRY POTTER SERIES!

If you've followed me for a while then you know I reread the Harry Potter series every January! Next year will be no exception. By this time of the year I am gearing up and excited about the reread. Everyone is invited to join and read along. #HarryPotterNewYear

Next month is the like the prequel cause I'm reading HPPOA with the kid! So ready. And yes, next year will be a digital read.

MyNamesParadise I was doing the #hpchapteraday challenge that a lot of ppl were doing here on Litsy, but when I got a full time job in June I just totally abandoned it. :( so maybe by the time I start up again I‘ll be reading along with you! I‘m part way through Goblet of Fire. 7y

TheNextBook @Notafraidofwords what?! 😳😂 It's okay! They aren't going anywhere. Where did you stop? I know quite a few people who never finished. Not everyone is addicted like me! I couldn't detach from the novels if I wanted to, even though I have pretty much rejected everything else. (edited) 7y

Notafraidofwords @TheNextBook lol I know, I don‘t tell a lot of people because I‘m scared of the judgement. The second one I finished when I was teen, but don‘t remember anything. I‘ve never watched the movies either. 7y

If you haven't fallen into the fandom thats fine too! Read what you love! I love HP novels so I always read them 😂 ok I'm a little obsessed but I respect that you aren't. Just dont judge my crazy! 7y

TheNextBook @mcipher I love reading them in January. The first chapter I read of the year is "The Boy Who Lived" and it feels like I'm coming home! ? I've never been a fan of the movies. I own them all because thought I wanted them and nope. I watched the behind the scene stuff though. 7y

Harry Potter Hard Cover Boxed Set: Books #1-7 [With Stickers] | J.K. Rowling

So I don't know about anyone else but despite all of the mess going on in the world, I'm actually managing to get reading done! Starting the year off with #harrypotternewyear always helps. #keepingitshort is off with a bang as well. If you have a hard time getting through short story collections I would definitely recommend trying this! My first nonfiction of the year was amazing with Blood at the Root which I also recommend!

Another year. Another reread. Extremely worth it. I said when I started this reread on the 1st that it always feels like coming home. It's true. This story will always be one that I love and come back to.

"Simultaneously they walked forwards and hugged, Harry gripping the still sopping back of Ron's jacket."

Ron's story arch should not be overlooked. He is one of the most fully realized characters. He is deeply emotional and is trying to find his individuality within a large family with a famous best friend. This was the ultimate turning point for him.

"How strange it was to see himself represented in stone, a happy baby without a scar on his forehead..."

When Harry reflects on the life he could have had while heading to Godric's Hollow it breaks my heart. And then this happened. I just... it's just incredibly sad that one person's fear of death could cause so many others to lose their lives...

KCorter It's all I can do to not join in, especially with everyone posting about #hpchapteraday. I literally *just* read them last year and listen to the audiobooks with my boys every few months. I know I need to move on to other books... but the Harry Potter stories are just PERFECT! They are the epitome of a well-developed story. J.K. Rowling is simply astounding. 8y

TheNextBook @MyNamesParadise there was a documentary about Rowling centered around finishing and releasing this book and I highly recommend it. She mentioned all of this. 8y

They are so well done, it's my favorite series and alot in my life has changed since I was 12 and these first came out and I love that have been such a constant part of me and my life. Love them. Keep this in mind for next year. I start on 01/01 every year! 8y
