How did you choose this book: I decided to complete the entire Harry Potter series.
Well, that was a roller coaster! I‘m so happy to have finished my series reread this year, despite putting off the emotional strain of this one until the last minute.
Fifth finish of #24B42020 puts me around 19:30, and now I need to pick my next read.

Not much progress today, although I‘m now 240 pages from the end. (Dobby! 😩)
Instead, the family went to the science center/children‘s museum today for a few hours. Our first time there, definitely not the last.
Might get a little more in tonight, and hoping for a more productive day tomorrow.

Finally finished my 2019 Harry Potter reread. I‘m so glad I made time to read this series again and hope to do it every few years because it‘s so worth revisiting. #wintergames

Write a brief summary of the novel; who was the protagonist; what was the problem and how was the problem resolved? Problem Harry must find and destroy Voldemort's Horcruxes, which are well-hidden and well-defended,
Solved by harry defeating Voldemort
Every year my roommate and I watch the Harry Potter movies leading up to Christmas. One a week that is watched on a Sunday. Tonight, since I leave on Friday to go to Maine for Christmas, we are watching the final two.
I finished my stag, and he‘s exactly what I wanted him to be! Now I need a name for him. My brain keeps defaulting to Aramis, but I‘m not sure that feels quite RIGHT. I‘m open to suggestions.
Even though I did the antlers while I listened to something else, I‘m filing him under DH because I did most of the work while I finished my epic Harry Potter reread. (Plus, stag.) My next one will be pearl white and silver, like a patronus. #audiocrafting
One of the things I did during my afternoon HP binge listen was make the world‘s best chocolate ice cream.
If you want to do this, combine one can of evaporated milk with exactly the same amount of chocolate hazelnut spread, by weight. Whisk the two together until you‘ve got a smooth mixture. Churn that mixture in the nearest ice cream machine, then transfer it to a sealable container and freeze for a few hours. #audiocooking
I did all sorts of stuff, including work on a super secret Christmas present and cook supper, while I listened to a big chunk of HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS. I think it‘s emerged as my favourite during this reread, though that could be mostly because I don‘t know it as well as the earlier books. It feels practically brand new. #audiocooking
I invented a pretty good butternut squash soup recipe tonight! It‘s got green curry and coconut milk in it, plus garlic and chilli paste and all the puréed pumpkin I had in my fridge (ie, maybe 1/3 cup).
I made a good start on DH while I cooked. It feels really fresh, which I‘ve realized is because this is only the third time I‘ve read it. I‘ve forgotten stuff, even with the movies in my head! Hurray! #audiocooking
Well, my Mega-Harry Potter Re-Read and Re-Watch is done, and I really feel as if I've been on a journey. As with any second reading, diving into Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows again yielded observations that I didn't have the first time through. And the rich community online of people discussing the books, the movies, the characters provides a different perspective, as well. ⬇️
We don‘t celebrate Christmas, so the only reason we have an Advent calendar is because it contains Harry Potter Funko pops. We had last years, and it was kind of fun to see my Jewish hubby get so excited over the arrival of this year‘s! 🤣
I'm really please with the books I read this month! I rated most of them four stars or higher. Here are some stats:⠀
34 books total⠀
➡️ 4 nonfiction⠀
➡️ 30 fiction⠀
➡️ 5 audiobooks⠀
➡️ 3 graphic novels⠀
➡️ 10 YA/middle grade⠀
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows; Thirteen Doorways, Wolves Behind Them All; Pet
I just loved this chapter “The tale of the three brothers“. It was a very wise tale and entertaining too.
This is a picture of Harry S Truman around the age of 19 or 20. It is from David McCullough‘s amazing biography Truman. When young, President Truman looked an awful lot like a turn of the century Harry Potter. 😊 Interestingly, at this time he worked at a bank for William Thornton Kemper - who is the great-great-grandad of actor Ellie Kemper, of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt fame.
So yesterday I finally finished reading the Harry Potter series for the first time ever. I'm kinda sad that it's over.
I totally had to buy a new copy because I don't know where the hell my copy went. The other 6 are sitting on the shelf exactly where they're supposed to be! 🙄
Behold! New floating shelves and vinyl wall stickers!
The framed comic and the plants are placeholders until I acquire more books I want to keep. Applying the stickers made me feel like I was in the first five minutes of a SIX FEET UNDER episode. I had to perch at a weird angle on a stepladder placed on some foam mats on my bed. Balancing was a full body workout, lemme tell you.
This is definitely my favorite book out of the whole series. Even as a re-read it‘s still so exciting! I laughed with the characters, cried with them, felt defeated with them, scared with them, hopeful with them, celebrated with them! The range of emotions I felt while reading this book...❤️ You know it‘s a good one when your heart feels the words on the page.
the moment has come.
the last installment of my Harry Potter re-read.
i‘m emotional rn guys 😢 lol
I‘ve had a blast reading these again, it‘s woken up my inner geek and has gotten me reading fanfic again and fantasizing about reading them to my future children 🖤 i love this world sm #potterhead4eva
