I have very little to update book wise - but I‘m meeting my Goodreads goals, and am still reading these 2! Have had 0 time to read in over a week 😳

But bugs, my sister & I went to denver to see meow wolf - very cool!!

Crazy busy for various work reasons, but hoping everyone else‘s summers are going well!

Oh! Also received 4 Amazon packages & another package!! Thank you @TheBookHippie - can‘t wait until #StaycationSwap #SITS open day!!

Good family drama book. I just felt that the love triangle was over dramatized. Lots of characters and back stories to keep the plot moving, but some parts didn‘t hit perfectly for me. Loved the setting, vibrancy of Kolkata.

An intriguing family saga filled with complex relationships and rich cultural descriptions, set against the backdrop of Kolkata. The novel does a beautiful job capturing the sights and sounds of Kolkata, immersing readers in the vibrancy of the city and the multifaceted Lahiri family. But can feel a bit drawn out

I loved this novel, and learned so much about India that I hadn‘t known. Subhash was my favorite character (so glad he got his happy ending!) but Lahiri made me love all of them a bit. Well, maybe I just pitied his mother. So happy to finally get to this one. #doublespin #24in2024

TheBookHippie Oh I have this in my pile! 1y

I liked this one a bit more than the first book. The ending was a bit too dramatic for me though.
The writing also felt more like the Cemetery of Forgotten Books in this one. 💕

The Lowland is a masterly novel of fate and will, exile and return. Tragic events connect two brothers. a smart woman who struggles with her history. a nation split by revolution. a relationship that endures after death. Suspenseful, sweeping, piercingly intimate
