Can‘t wait to read this! I loved We Have Always Lived in the Castle, and Shirley Jackson is 👌 Thanks @jmofo ! You are so kind to send this to me! #lasagnahoggiveaway
@jmofo thank you so much for this book! It's one I've been wanting to read for so long now and I can finally take it off my "need to buy" list and put it on the tbr list! Thank you again for hosting the #LasagnaHogGiveaway ?
My #lasagnahoggiveaway word is Gigil which is a Filipino word used to describe when something is so cute you want to squeeze it... 😄 @jmofo
Some of my favorite words: petrichor, defenestration, avuncular, and penultimate. And bumbershoot and tickety-boo! Thanks for the fun prompt and giveaway chance, @jmofo #LasagnaHogGiveAway
@jmofo is hosting the fun #LasagnaHogGiveaway
One of my fave words is tsundoku, a Japanese word that means “the act of leaving a book unread after buying it, typically piling up together with other such unread books.”
Other faves include: serendipity, Elysian, cynefin, thalassophile, salaam, vellichor, coddiwomple, & lisztomania. (I have an entire Pinterest board dedicated to words: https://pin.it/seqtwc4ws4ohft)
#lasagnahoggiveaway. What a great idea for a giveaway! Litsy is the best, isn‘t it. It‘s like finding your way home. When I think of interesting words I walkways think of the names my dad had for me when I was a child. He called me Snicklefritz and Pookytat. He was the only one I‘ve heard use those names, and they always me feel special!
@jmofo what a fun giveaway! #LasagnaHogGiveaway
Some funny words.. I love when Irishmen say arse, quietscheenchen means rubber duck in german, krankenhaus is hospital in German, and fart means speed in Danish, Norwegian and Swedish 😊
I love language, languages, and all the weird little quirks (especially in English - what a discombobulated beast!). I homeschool my daughter, and it‘s such fun to share words with her. We recently learned “crepuscular,” is one of my favorites. We also studied Catal Huyuk (chatal hooyook) in history, and it‘s just fun to say. Another favorite quirk is false cognates - embarazar in Spanish means to become pregnant!
