#LillithJuly #TalkinBoutARevolution Posada was an incredible artist he did chapbooks , children‘s books, and oftentimes very political cartoons aimed at the working class.His distinct style ,a huge influence on Mexican art.Posada died in 1913 , so he didn‘t live to see the end of the Mexican Revolution, but he saw its beginning.

Henrik_Madsen It is a chunkster but it is not a hard read. I absolutely loved it when I read it after it came out. (It is also a tale of two cities, one oreoccupied with farming and the land, the other one focused on the sea. Jensen sides with the mariners.) 6y

There are no maps for the cities Marco Polo describes to Kublai Khan in this dreamy, unconventional masterpiece. His tales of city after imaginary city are beautifully written, but also feel like philosophical mysteries to solve. Not sure what Calvino had in mind, but it felt like a struggle to grasp all the dichotomies the world gets split into, and what they share in common.
