This is for sure one of my most favorite books and a #meaningfulmemoir Irby shares the funny and sad from her experiences in essays. I laughed and cried. It certainly won‘t be everyone‘s cup of tea but it was perfect for me. Highly recommend the audiobook read by the author.

#jazzyjune @Eggs One #meaningfulmemoir for me is this book by the wonderful Carrie Fisher. The world is a little less funny since she passed away.

Four of my 5-star reads in 2019 are by author‘s telling stories from their own life. Although Rising Strong is not technically a memoir it is filled with meaningful life lessons from Brene Brown‘s personal experience with her own family. If only I could go back in time to apply her advice and preface my conflicts with, “The story I‘m telling myself”.

Day 17 - #JazzyJune

I read this #MeaningfulMemoir about a man, his dog, and their journey together 10 years ago. When his dog, a golden retriever named Nellie, develops lumps that are most likely cancer, the forty-year-old author, Joseph Monninger, refuses to abandon her to the animal hospital; instead, he takes her on a final road trip through the West to visit their old mountain haunts and fish their favorite trout streams. Very touching!
