The Exile | Diana Gabaldon
Mehso-so

I am a huge fan of the Outlander series, but I didn't enjoy this graphic novel. I was confused who the characters were. You couldn't tell them apart except for Jamie and Claire. I rated this book a 3 out of 5 stars.

I didn't enjoy this one as much as the first. Honestly I was bored with the first half (the Paris section, and all the Bonnie Prince Charlie stuff). But the second half was SO GOOD. And the ending.... 😭😭💔

This book has a lot of good quotes in it, but I really felt this one. 💔

Series keeps getting better.

Love the new location , love the new characters, love the new circles and the new mysteries.

dabbe I am such a fan of Gabaldon's books that I refuse to watch the TV series because I don't want my conception of Jamie and Claire to be muddled in any way. (edited) 1w
Texreader I thought the books got better as well. I watched most of the first season but it didn‘t hold my interest 1w
BookwormM @dabbe @Texreader I nearly abandoned at book 1 glad I didn‘t also never seen show 1w

It's taken me over a month to read all 1,325+ pages of this hefty tome, but I think that suited the slow pace of the story: exciting stuff doesn't really get going until the final quarter. That doesn't bother me. I'm interested in the domestic details, and enjoyed my extended visit with Claire and Jamie and everyone.

TrishB I read this in quarantine earlier this year- it suited that entirely! 2w

The most perfect day for reading. (And certainly this book). There's nothing better than getting cozied up by the fire and lost in a story. 🤓 #readingday #winterwonderland

So...picked this one up again. I flew through the first 4 books but 5 and this one have taken me forever. It's funny but I tend to go back to them during the holidays when I want to just get lost in a book for a while. I'm on page 489 of 8,042 (JK 😬) so we'll see how far I get. 🤓 #lostinstory #holidayread
