"Then I placed my own affinity items.... outside the circle: a used copy of The Hobbit..." This is the 3rd Tolkien reference made in the book so far. The first 2 were direct quotes. ?

I'm still listening to the tagged book, but I completely forgot I had this Blind Date with a Book. It says "Sure I'm a little wild - let's meet up after school and I'll tell you about my grand plans - some of them may even be real! - YA" I think I'll open it and read it next.... #ReverseReadathon

If you follow my blog, fortifiedbybooks.com, you probably know that I'm a Veteran. Even if you don't, you can take a guess from nearly all of my posts here that I ♥️ blankets. I own a lot of blankets, but until yesterday, I haven't had a woobie since the one I had and somehow lost in the Army. The Boyfriend got me this one for Valentine's Day! Even better is that it arrived not long after I got sick. There is no blanket like a woobie. #Awesome

It's gloomy and raining outside. I can't think of a better way to spend my time indoors than snuggled up in a blanket with a book. I will probably add a giant mug of tea before too long.

This is hands down the best subscription box I've ever gotten. It's called Introverted Chick and I found it on Crate Joy. It includes a throw blanket, several bookmarks, origami sheets with instructions for making corner bookmarks, coaster, candle, tea, list of favorite books from subscribers, mini notepads, pen, book necklace, case with earbuds, couple of coozies, and, of course, a book with an autographed book plate. I am in love, y'all!

"People were alive whether you chose to notice them or not, while dogs tended to make you notice them if they decided that you weren't paying them enough attention. Dresden is the king of ignoring me, especially when I'm trying to take pictures of him. #CatsofLitsy

I want to keep reading but it's getting really weird in a way that I'm not sure I can continue my suspension of disbelief.

LittleMummyMe I've just finished it. The beginning was so good!... the ending...meh, not for me unfortunately. 🤷‍♀️ 12mo
LittleMummyMe The book is like 95% build up, 5% ending (an ending that's rushed, with not enough detail, holes in the plot and too many unanswered questions) 12mo
Fortifiedbybooks @LittleMummyMe I agree! I was loving it until about 1/2 way, then it got weird, but got really good again. I almost quit at around 300 pages when it got to be eye roll worthy ridiculous, but I managed to finish it. Totally rushed ending with barely any wrap up. As I got to the last 10 pages, I started worrying it would be a cliffhanger ending so there could be a sequel. I'm glad that didn't happen. I would have been so angry. 12mo

I finished my book, White is for Witching by Helen Oyeyemi, but I don't have another one near by. I also don't have my earbuds close enough so I can listen to an audiobook. There's no way I can move my fur baby, though. I'm stuck on the couch with nothing to read!!! #Readathon

"Such a density of literature had accumulated in Paris... that one pictures characters from centuries of literature crossing paths constantly... Parisian writers always gave the street address of their characters, as though all readers knew Paris so well that only a real location would breathe life into a character, as though histories and stories themselves had taken up residence throughout the city." That is why I love stories set in Paris.

What I wonder is this: how come you don't notice the time going by, and you don't think you are changing in any way, but then all of a sudden you realize that what you are thinking today is different from what you thought yesterday and that you are different from what you were yesterday - or last week - or last month?
