Flowers and coins for Victor Hugo. He shares a tomb with Alexandre Dumas and Emile Zola, but nobody‘d left anything for them as of early this afternoon. 😔 Hopefully they also receive cool presents and the Pantheon staff just clear them away periodically.

xicanti @tpixie I‘m ASSUMING they were there because the gift shop had so much stuff on them, but I‘ve been too busy to fact-check so it‘s possible I saw everything in the crypt and the shop‘s buyer was like, “Let‘s stock up on items related to a couple of really popular residents of France just because it‘ll sell.” Much like how every monument has Eiffel Tower merchandise. 5d
