I haven‘t been able to read as much as I sometimes do at the beach, but I really enjoyed both of these. Carrie Fisher‘s memoir is great on audio!

River of Teeth is a fun, western with hippos that also offers one of the most thought-provoking casts I've ever encountered in a fantasy story. I'll definitely also be checking out Sarah Gailey's sequel Taste of Marrow.

Love the scene in chapter four between Houndstooth and Hero on the road to the Harriet. Reminds me of "Ocean's 11" when Rusty asks Danny, "Why do this?" Only "Ocean's 11" goes for the laugh; Sarah Gailey aims for the reader's heart. Both hit their target. #RiverOfTeeth #SarahGailey #oceans11 #fantasy #hippos
