so-so

The reign of H H Holmes told through the context of the 1893 World Fair -- excellent storytelling, but I was far more interested the portions dealing with Holmes himself, as I found the descriptions of the Fair's architecture somewhat boring. But, this is a solid read for anyone who likes history with a little but of darkness thrown in! #thedevilinthewhitecity #truecrime

vivastory This is one of my favorite nonfiction books. I found the sections about the world fair to be even more interesting than the chapters on hh holmes. 7y

bibliobliss @vivastory It is a very good book. I'm finding that I really want to get on with the story of H. H. Holmes! Serial killers fascinate me to no end. Although I have to admit, the research and detail about the World's Fair for this book is exhaustive and outstanding. 7y
