I‘ll admit the book dragged in places and the monotone quality of the narrator was tiring, and yet I was completely mesmerized by this story. A fascinating look at the mind of a chess prodigy and the sexism women faced in the 50‘s & 60‘s. Excited to watch the Netflix series.

Megabooks Yes! I liked the robotic narrator because I felt it was more authentic to the MC. She almost had a robotic mind and very flat affect from her childhood trauma. Just my opinion. 🤷🏻♀️ 3y
Cinfhen My son who watched the series said the actress also sounded robotic when she spoke @Megabooks but sometimes it felt like Siri or Alexa was reading the book...you know what I mean??? 3y
