GoGo Monster | Taiyo Matsumoto

#TopTenoftheYear #2018 countdown: #4
A strange sci-fi/fantasy involving spirits and other realities. Mastsumoto is such a master at creating atmosphere I can still feel the story. The panels are dynamic, gorgeous, and unsettling. Go Go Monster is one of my favorite comics I‘ve ever read.

#TopTenoftheYear #2018 countdown: #5
One of the last books I read in 2018, Hostage has incredible atmosphere and structure. Delisle really hits the mark with this one, balancing the pacing and narrative expertly. If you enjoy biographical works, add this one to your reading list.

A very lovely, charming comic created by a transgender woman living in Japan. This autobiographical look at this woman‘s life from childhood to marriage is a wonderful perspective to read. ❤️

The beautiful little book that started my obsession with all things succulents. I love the layout and the photographs and the obvious passion radiating off of every page. It‘s also one of the few nonfiction books I read (and finished) last year.

I love a good romantic comedy, especially if the MC is a bit of a smart-ass. I‘d love to read more by Marshall Thornton as I find his sense of humor delightful, and his stories well written.
