pickAilsa Rae was a delightful surprise! I wasn‘t expecting to love this as much as I did, but it was full of “heart.” It was an easy, light read, with some serious subject matter. I enjoyed the believable relationship Ailsa had with her mother, who is both her closest confidant and an overbearing nurturer. It‘s a fine line to tread when your heart hangs in the balance. I also was not prepared for the multiple love stories to tug on my ⬇️⬇️⬇️
LaraReads emotions as much as they did, but it was so well written and in a unique style. Really loved it! Also, going to use this for #abodypositivemessage after all the “learning to love yourself after a transplant changes you” that is a focus of much of the book. 1y

LaraReads @jenniferw88 thank you for sharing that! I would love to hear your thoughts on authenticity if you do read it. Without spoiling too much (I hope) it was more she sometimes struggled with physical changes of skin tone, scars, and body changes from anti-rejection meds. It felt sincere enough to fit the prompt. 1y

And I think it's a VERY good fit for the prompt - I can understand why some people are uncomfortable with scars etc. I'm lucky in the fact that I've always been proud of my scars (I had open heart surgery when I was 1, and several pacemakers before the transplant, so have grown up with them) - I've never wanted to try the cream that says it gets rid of them. 1y
