This is the 14th book in the Pendergast series. In this one, a dead body is left on Pendergast's doorstep, and his family history comes back to bite him 💙

My plan for #SeriesLove2024 is to finish the Pendergast novels by Preston and Child. And then move on to another series of theirs.

I loved this book. It starts out with a rather clandestine meeting between Oscar Wilde and Arthur Conan Doyle. Wilde tells Conan Doyle about a story that he recently heard about a man eating bear in Roaring Fork, Colorado. Back to this century, Corrie Swanson heads to Colorado to investigate the remains from the bear attacks and ends up in trouble.

Disturbing, graphic, and heartbreaking.
I almost bailed due to the violence perpetrated against dogs, so be forewarned if that is a dealbreaker for you.

Everybody's favorite thriller book club is back and this time we have two authors for the price of one. This one was more unnerving, scary, and tense than what I was expecting. Definitely, a first rate thriller. We go through our favorite aspects of the book and some of the things that didn't ultimately work. And finally, we go through the prop bets. Enjoy!

This is listed as 12.5 in the Pendergast series. In this one, Pendergast tells a nasty little tale of the local New Orleans tooth fairy ⚜️

Another Pendergast mystery this week! It‘s excellent, although scaredy-cat me sometimes had to wait till morning to continue reading. Like “Cabinet of Curiosities,” the who and why dunnits completely blindsided me in a good way. I also enjoyed the surprisingly sweet subplot of Pendergast‘s relationship with his temporary teenage assistant. If you like creepy mysteries with unusual (to put it mildly) solutions, this series might be for you.
This is the 12th Pendergast novel and the conclusion to The Helen Trilogy. This one is quite depressing, and then it goes nuts. I think my favorite parts were actually the side story of Corrie Swanson and her troubles.
