Picked this up at Homestead National Monument in Nebraska. It‘s about a black homesteading family in South Dakota. Terrific.

I haven‘t read this book yet but it‘s been on my tbr for awhile. I‘ve never been to South Dakota but I‘d really love to see the Dignity statue. #traveltuesday

TheBookHippie We did the Badlands, Mt Rushmore, Black Hills, Rapid City and it seems like we did a few Indian reservation stops. It‘s been awhile. I remember not being impressed with Mt Rushmore 😂😅. 3y
Bookwormjillk South Dakota has been on my travel list forever, but still haven‘t made it. As for books the one that comes to mind is 3y

#2022Book9
I usually like stories that have multiple plot lines all moving toward each other. In this case, though, there might have been a few too many ideas all trying to make sense together. I really liked the flashbacks into the main characters' pasts, but some of their interactions in the present seemed a bit too forced.

Friday lunchtime I walked to the library to pick up a book I'd reserved: "Due to unforeseen circumstances the library is closed today". Oh well! I pored over my Kindle for something to tide me over: found this Amazon freebie. The poorly written opening paragraph almost put me off reading any further. The promised Bible verses were somewhat of a red herring. I didn't care for the closing scene. BUT it turned out to be quite the wild ride!

This book starts with a woman waking up from a car crash with amnesia, and a vague memory that she should run and keep on running. The book tells her story, along with Ivor, a bar owner accused of a murder in a night he was black-out drunk and Kylie, a detective new to town who is slowly realizing there is corruption under the surface.

The finished Creamy Wild Rice & Salmon Soup. Rich, creamy & really good. It‘s a chowder-ish soup, I tossed together, hearty but not heavy. Link to recipe.👇🏻

Starting another wintery mystery/thriller.❄️I enjoyed the author‘s Annabelle Schwartzman series & I‘m looking forward to this one. #series

Texreader Mmmmm that looks so darned good I could just die. I can almost smell it. ❤️😋 4y

🎧 I‘m at work ... rushed ... great thriller ... liked the characters even when I hated them!! Fun read. Just what I was looking for. Easy! I saw things coming. Didn‘t mind it. I liked the way the chapters switched between the 2 MCs! Thank you Amazon Prime First Reads from YIKES ... July? ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️2/3
