The Great Gatsby | Francis Scott Fitzgerald

Pickpick

1. The Roaring 20s. Love the music, clothes and writers of this era. 2. A party at Zelda and Scott Fitzgerald‘s. 3. Dear Sun by Janine Burke. It‘s based on the real letters between friends in the art world in Australia. I read it in my 20s.

1. The Golden Age of Sail; think late 1700s and early 1800s or the Napoleonic War or Regency era.

2. I would love to visit England; a super power that‘s been around for ages!

3. The tagged book is the first in the Aubrey and Maturin series.

(PS. I love the graphic)

Melissa_J I like all of your answers 👍🏻 6y

JaclynW Great choices! Great book! This would be one of my selections too. Can you imagine living back then?! 😲🤔😊 6y
melyndarae @JaclynW It would definitely be different lol. 6y
bookandcat Would love to visit this time too, though I would NOT like to be a Boleyn 😂😂 6y
melyndarae @bookandcat Definitely not! 6y

1. So many! Probably most interested in the early middle ages, but I wouldn't want to stay long!
2. Scandinavia - Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland... and/or New Zealand... both have so much history and culture to explore!
3. Read The Last Kingdom (tagged, same time period), which was pretty awesome 💙💜❤

bookandcat Sounds awesome! Have you read Kristin Lavransdatter or The Sterkarm Handshake? (Middle age Norway and 1500s Britain respectively) 6y
TCLinrow @bookandcat Not yet but they sound awesome! I'll definitely give them a go at some point 😊 I've only started branching out genre wise in the last couple of years... when I was younger I only read fantasy and sci-fi, and the occasional non-fiction if it was about something I was in to... now I realise how much I was missing! 😲 6y
bookandcat Sterkarm has some sci fi elements! You have lots of books left to explore, how exciting! 6y

1. I would like to visit the 1980s because it sounds pretty cool from Ready Player One.

2. I would love to visit Italy around the time Leonardo Da Vinci was alive. Paris would be nice too

3. Ready Player One is about the fan culture of 1980s. I would recommend it.

bookandcat Adore Ready Player One! And Italy is great. You might like The Agony and the Ecstasy (it's about Michelangelo during the Italian Renaissance). And the author of Ready Player One has a second book out called Armada! 6y
Ava_Weasley @bookandcat thanks for all the info! I will definitely try out Armada and The Agony and the Ecstasy. 6y
KathyWheeler I read The Agony and the Ecstasy when I was young — it remains one of my favorite books. Armada is not quite as good as Ready Player One, but I liked it. 6y
