My husband's grandpa passed away in early October from a short battle with cancer. He lived a full life with a big family, a job he loved and many many hobbies. Reading didn't become part of his life until these last couple of years when he started to slow down. And then he read and read and read. In the last 3-4 years, he read 320+ books and kept a journal! This Was a Man was the next book on his list to read. #bookvember

Posemn I was just going through the posts for This was a Man and saw this post about your Husbands Grandpa. I love the notebook and I love that he could turn to reading as he got older. I have old recipe cards from my husband's great aunt. These things are such personal and special treasures aren't they?! 7y

heidisreads @lowellette It's a wonderful book! It's written in letters of correspondence between the characters so you fall into their lives quickly, laughing and crying with them. I can't wait to talk about it at book club. 7y
