Absolutely fantastic version of sleeping beauty. I really love when authors take an existing fairytale and completely turn it on its head.
Nevermind the astonishing amount of cat hair. Bastet has been rolling around.

Stormy outside, cozy inside.
This one is so good so far. I love T. Kingfisher's writing.
This was a fun little read. This is a fairy tale retelling of Sleeping Beauty. What if the fairy gifts weren‘t to protect the Princess, but to protect others *from* the Princess? It really is a charming little novella. Give it a go!

This was my first T Kingfisher and it won‘t be my last.

I absolutely loved the stone troll baby. He truly made me give this book 4 stars. In this one, Hilda and baby troll do a freaky friday and switch bodies (not on purpose). Craziness ensues and Hilda has to figure out how to turn back into a human. Loved the graphics and the storyline.
I will only say the ending was a touch anticlimactic but otherwise it was a good read. Very creative and enjoyable I liked this take on the sleeping beauty story. First book I've finished in a while, I feel proud of myself even if it was just a novella.
4.5 ⭐ You know that feeling when you have waited too long to read a really good book. I‘m living that now. I‘ve had Thornhedge since it came out and I already know I love T. Kingfisher. But no, I waited on this. The story that this woman can put in 111 pages. It‘s sweet, it‘s uplifting, it‘s happy, it‘s fascinating. Let the adjectives continue. This is a sleeping beauty retelling that imagines a different villain and a different reason
A fantastic retelling of Sleeping Beauty. A reverse where the princess is evil and the fairy is good. I love T. Kingfisher‘s books and this novella didn‘t disappoint.
Book 8/100 of the year.
The novel is set 15 years in the past and in the present in Vermont . The mystery surrounds the disappearance of Lisa, a 12 year old girl. The clue may come from a tale Lisa shared with her younger brother Sam. “The King of the Fairies” was going to marry Lisa & make his Queen. Sam & his girlfriend Phoebe try to solve the mystery. The twists are strange but certainly are alluring. Will Sam & Phoebe solve the mystery? 3.75/5
