It was fine and I'm glad I finished it, but I enjoyed Ruin more.

Okay, as much as I am enjoying the overall story here, the second appearance in this series of Oralia's magic vagina almost made me DNF the book. Come on. If we're doing this, at least make it part of a sex magic system, not just "sex with her made my wings grow back" ?

Soft pick. The writing was solid for the most part, but the spicy scenes were so badly done that it took me right out.

I just finished it and I'm going to go read the whole series over again. I legit SCREAMED at the last lines.

When is Book 4?

behudd Wait why did I think this was a trilogy!! Haven‘t read this one yet but already glad there will be more 🤩 3w
seibelsays @behudd I want to say it was originally supposed to be a trilogy! But there will definitely be at least 1 more book. 3w

I picked up one of those "blind date with a book" deals at the bookstore and this was my prize. The prompt was "For the reader who loves an endearing outsider, fairy tale retellings, and a hint of tragedy." It might not be my very next read, but I am looking forward to it when I do get into it.

I kept wavering on my feelings about this one. I ultimately enjoyed it overall, I definitely did not call the twist, but for a good chunk of the book I was fairly meh on it.

Soft pick. This was a solid 3.5-4 for me, and honestly, I might have liked it more if I didn't read it immediately following For Whom the Belle Tolls, which I ADORED. The story was good, if a little formulaic (which is not a bad thing!). I really enjoyed the world-building and the setting.

When is book 2?!

RamsFan1963 According to her Tik Tok, she's hard at work on book 2, which will be all about Penny and Gregorith. I hope its soon but I'm guessing 2026. 2mo

Trying to pick my next read. I've had a few bails recently, and the ones I've finished have been meh. Bride was...fine? I enjoyed it, but there were too many cringe moments for me and I'm not inclined to read the companion novel when it comes out. I guess I'm just in a bit of a reading rut.

I just found out that the next book doesn't come out until Sept 2025 and I am unwell. 😭

CatLass007 My library hold came in sooner than I expected. Actually, many of my library holds came in all at once so I now have five audiobooks borrowed via Libby and two in my Audible library that I really want to finish this month because one is for a buddy read and the other for a challenge. I can finish them all, I‘m pretty sure, I just don‘t like feeling like I‘m under a deadline. It‘s a self-imposed deadline, but that‘s the worst kind. 10mo
seibelsays @CatLass007 This is when the 1.25x speed comes in handy for me. Enjoy!!! 10mo
CatLass007 I can‘t listen to it quite that fast, but I rarely listen to something at 1.0 speed. And there‘s one narrator I actually have to listen to at 0.85 speed. I think it may have something to do with the way it was recorded, not that the narrator actually talks that fast. She narrates Robyn Peterman‘s Good to the Last Death series. Very funny and I love the friendships between all the characters. My favorite characters are probably The Four (cont)⬇️ 10mo
CatLass007 Drag Queens of the Apocalypse! All of her series are about women experiencing a midlife crisis. But they‘re all 40, and I think that‘s much too young for a midlife crisis. That‘s my only quibble with her series. (edited) 10mo

I was 100% the target audience for this book. I've been following Andrew his entire career and have a standing rule that if he's playing a show within a 2,000 mile radius of my house, it's fair game. Getting more insight into the life he's lived behind the music that has been the soundtrack to my life was a delight.

Mehso-so

A Beauty and the Beast retelling but with werewolves?!? Yes please! I stayed up until 3AM to finish it in one sitting. It was a good story, it was well done, but I have to give it a so-so because the MC had a few character traits that irk me, usually to the point of bailing on a book. The premise and the writing kept me with this one, but I won't be rereading.
