#JulyJazz Day 26: #CheerTheLonely Soul Catcher (Elias) with some dripping mangoes - a scene that made me laugh out loud in this book. Still prolonging my stay here in the world that Sabaa Tahir brilliantly crafted.
Paired with original strawberry cheesecake from The Cheesecake Factory at Southcenter Mall in Seattle.

This novel has so many themes in so many characters, but for Count Rostov the themes of loss and loneliness are significant. He is a prisoner in Russia at the Metropol Hotel- were he to exit through the door, he would be shot. He has lost so much but seeks to assuage his pain by making connections with other guests and employees of the hotel💔

Once when I was testing coordinator at my school and all hell was breaking loose on testing day, the principal came in from BREAKFAST, saw I was freaking out and harshly said to me “Relax.“ I threw my papers that I had on the floor in front of him, said “You can handle this,“ and stomped off. The AP ran after me and calmed me down. Luckily, I wasn't fired. My heart rate still goes up whenever I recall that story. 😂😮‍💨😂 3d

Aims42 @dabbe Ugh, there is NOTHING worse than being told to relax during a stressful situation. Nothing! I‘m glad you weren‘t fired 😵‍💫 My default reaction to stressful situations is to cry, which I‘m sure your principal wouldn‘t have appreciated either 🤪 3d
