🤯💖WOW!! So happy & excited to have stumbled upon this new to me series. I loved every second of this ride & can‘t wait to see what‘s next for Cotton Malone.

TheSpineView Love finding new series!👍📚 3w
BethM I was just contemplating starting this one. I‘ve read some Berry stand alone and enjoyed them. I don‘t generally go for the ex operative narrative though 🤔 3w
DieAReader @TheSpineView 🤭Yes! I‘ve been lucky enough to come across a few so far this year! 3w

The book is about whether we place missiles in Poland pointed at Russia or the Iranians. Since the Polish people say 'no missiles in Poland' that is what Cotton Malone does. He listens to the people of Poland and does what they want even though the president of the US, Warren Fox, wants to place the missiles in Poland. This is a great story and one you should read if you like political books.

TheSpineView Excellent! 2mo
Andrew65 I agree, an excellent read. 2mo

The 5th book in the Cotton Malone series (#SeriesLove2024) takes us to Paris for further adventures. These are quick (although not short) books full of adventure and intrigue. This one had a bit of a gut punch though, and I‘m a bit mad at Berry. On to the next (soon, I hope).

A deadly race for the Vatican‘s oldest secret fuels New York Times bestseller Steve Berry‘s latest international Cotton Malone thriller.
The pope is dead. A conclave to select his replacement is about to begin. Cardinals are beginning to arrive at the Vatican, but one has fled Rome for Malta in search of a document that dates back to the 4th century and

EadieB Constantine the Great.
Former Justice Department operative, Cotton Malone, is at Lake Como, Italy, on the trail of legendary letters between Winston Churchill and Benito Mussolini that disappeared in 1945 and could re-write history. But someone else seems to be after the same letters and, when Malone obtains then loses them, he‘s plunged into a hunt that draws the attention of the legendary Knights of Malta.

EadieB This was a very good book by Steve Berry. Cotton Malone is on the trail of letters between Churchill and Mussolini. He is also interested in finding the Nostra Trinita which the Church is very interested in too. The book is about WWII history, Catholic Church history, the Knights of Malta, and the process of electing a pope and the operations of the Vatican. 12mo
EadieB The book takes us to the geography, scenery, and history of Northern Italy and the Island of Malta. The book is a bit different than the plot of his other books but has a few twists and turns to add to the enjoyment. I'm looking forward to the next installment from Steve Berry as I do like his books. If you like history then you will love to read this book. 12mo

My favorite Cotton Malone book to date!

May was a good reading month for me.
Other high points for the month were:
The Masterpiece by Fiona Davis
Notorious RBG : The Life and Times of Ruth Bader Ginsberg

Andrew65 Snap! I also loved The Masterpiece. 1y

My #May book for #12BooksFor2023 is The Bishop‘s Pawn. An excellent Cotton Malone thriller centred around what happened in Martin Luther King‘s final days. Always love Cotton Malone books but this is one of the very best and learned a lot about Martin Luther King in this book. This reads exceptionally well as a standalone even though it is a book in a series.

kspenmoll Stacked! Sounds great! 1y
Andrew65 @kspenmoll Definitely a very enjoyable read. 1y

Andrew65 @Mollyanna He is a wonderful character. If you‘ve not read them you might also be interested in the Ben Hope series by Scott Mariani. If I was in trouble I‘d want Cotton and Ben on my side. 1y
Mollyanna @Andrew65 I‘ll have to check it out. Looks like Hoopla has the first one…. ‘Cuz I need another series, but if Ben is like Cotton I‘m in. 1y
Andrew65 @Mollyanna 😂 One of my favourite series. Will be interested to hear what you think if you read it. 1y
Bluebird This was my May pick too. It‘s also my favorite of the series! 1y

I have always loved Steve berry‘s books. They have plenty of action but what I love most is how the author explains what points were real and what points he twisted into fiction. I always end up stopping and looking up particular facts or places or people. I always learn something from@his books

I love the Cotton Malone books and this one didn‘t disappoint. This one covered the assassination of Martin Luther King, and I feel I learnt a lot more about MLK in this book.

Some interesting theories presented in this book, and as usual Steve Berry wraps it in a great thriller story, with plenty of action. This covers Cotton‘s first mission so this also added interest.

I do recommend this series. @Bluebird @EadieB
