#kidlit for the win! They closed my library so I could sub for a first grade teacher. She wanted a math lesson where the kids could write math phrases about a picture, but she was sick and her plans were incomplete. Thank dog I have all the books! I may be the only one who checks out the Anno books. I imagine the next librarian will weed them.

Bookzombie I understand weeding, but it also makes me sad. Maybe the first grade teacher will want them if/when you move on. My sister retired and passed a lot of her classroom library on to other teachers. Of course, she has been filling in where they have positions unfilled and now misses having that library for the kids. 2y
mandarchy @Bookzombie I'm the school librarian, so the books I weed have to go through channels determined by the district. There are about 20,000 books in my library. 2y

Each page introduces a new number, incorporating engaging illustrations that demonstrate the actions and activities of the fox as it hunts for its next meal. The book combines the elements of a counting book with a suspenseful story, creating an exciting and educational reading experience for young readers.

This is a counting book that follows the story of a sly fox and its pursuit of prey in the English countryside. The book begins with one fox and gradually introduces numbers as the fox attempts to catch some birds, chicks, rabbits, and other animals.

Published in 2003, Just a Minute won the Pura Belpre Award along with the golden kite award. This is a story about Grandma Beetle needing to do chores around the house before she is able to go with Senor Calavera. I would read this story to my classroom because it has excellent illustrations and a good message about being patient. It also includes culture that some students may not be familiar with to learn more about.
