pickThis one is a hard but necessary read. You can‘t go into it lightly—it takes heart and courage to read every page. I was a cutter many years ago but thankfully it never evolved into anything worse, and I was able to get away from the circumstances which had led me to do this to begin with. Many people suffer in silence and aren‘t able to get away. They deserve a voice and a village to keep believing in them.

I have had this book on my tbr since reading Gone Girl and seeing that the author has lived in many places that I, too, have lived. Today, I looked at my Libby for audios-available-now and decided this title works for this time of year. 🗡️🎃👻🔪
pan(2006) It's the kind of thriller where the lead returns home after a long absence and investigates a murder only to find themself investigating their own past. The lead in this case has made some spectacularly bad choices and continues to make bad choices still. It's all very sordid, and finally lost me when the lead went partying with her kid sister. Others have loved it, and I think I understand its gritty appeal, but it was a miss for me.
Audiobook Fiction: Vanessa, Tony, and Conner have been through unthinkable physical and emotional assaults from stepdads, prison mates, and parents. They meet at a psychiatric hospital for youth who have attempted suicide. Raw and real.
