As seen on X aka Twitter! 😁

Bookwomble I'd have to have that sticker, too, if I drove one of the vehicles his employees conceived, designed and built, and which he takes credit for. 2mo

I don‘t like Musk, but I‘m in awe of Walter Isaacson, his biographer, after having read another of his books, “Steve Jobs”, a few years ago. This book is indeed very interesting.

SqueakyChu I never finished this book. Looking at Musk‘s face in the cover and knowing about who he is simply creeped me out!! 1mo

While Elon Musk is a figure that many have strong opinions about, myself included, you cannot discount his incredible success. His determination and dedication to hitting his goals are unlike anyone I have ever read about. While I do not agree with all his methods or his personal touch, there were many things I could take from him for my career. Love or hate him, Musk dares to see how risk can lead to great reward.

As a kid growing up in South Africa, Elon Musk knew pain and learned how to survive it.

This biography was a page turner--no matter what you think of Elon Musk, his life has certainly been eventful, and Walter Isaacson does a masterful job of portraying his complex world of business ventures and relationships. The portrait that emerges depicts a brilliant, visionary, obsessive, erratic, relentless, arrogant, unstable man. His accomplishments are extraordinary; his empathy for individual humans (as opposed to Humanity) is minimal.

Musk is quite a character -- sometimes lovable and sometimes infuriating. If I ever met him I would be hard pressed to know whether to hug him or slap him. Just kidding. No doubt he‘s a genius with grand intentions so nothing but respect from me. ⬇️

suvata In this book, Walter Isaacson delves into the life and career of one of the most enigmatic and influential figures in technology and entrepreneurship, This biography provides an in-depth view of Elon Musk, portraying a man driven by a relentless quest to solve some of humanity‘s most pressing challenges. 4-Stars

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I‘m no fan of this person, but I respect the biographer, and as a nonfiction lover, it‘s my duty to read relevant books. Also, my husband likes Musk so any debate fuel is always a plus. My opinion has improved slightly. Brilliant maybe, but a bit misdirected. I‘m happy not to see this cover anymore. 🫣

Bluebird I‘m planning to read this for the same reasons as you. Isaacson‘s biographies are always good reads for me. I have the audiobook, so won‘t need to see the cover image 😂😜 13mo
britt_brooke @Bluebird I did audio too, but the problem was when listening to it in the school car rider line every day. The screen in my car is distracting. 🫣😂 13mo
Simona The author is the only reason I will listen to this biography … but I‘m not sure if I‘m interested enough in Musk‘s story to spend with him for 20 hours 🤔 13mo

britt_brooke @Simona I listened to it on 1.5-1.75x so that at least cut down on the time. It was an interesting read, though. 13mo
Simona Unfortunately that doesn't work for me … I'm a fast reader, but I'm not a ‘fast listener‘ 🙃 13mo
britt_brooke @Simona I‘m the opposite! 😄 13mo

like the way this author thinks. I‘ve read Code Breaker, Einstein, Jobs & now Elon Musk. He knows what I want to know.

I tend not to follow social media as I‘m more of a skeptic than a sheeple.

What I gather from this book is that Elon had a rough childhood & wants to make the world a better place no matter who he has to dress down. He doesn‘t seem to greedily crave money or power, he seems to want to fix things.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 👇🏻👇🏻

Twainy Musk runs 6 companies. I‘m glad he‘s not my boss. Im convinced that only the brave work for him as he seems to promote excellence no matter how many heads roll.

I‘ve thought about it awhile & it makes me think that his antisocial, jackassery just makes him human. We all have faults, he has them and is trying to make the world a better place. Some of the projects he‘s working on are truly amazing.

Loved the book. Great narration! 👇🏻👇🏻

Twainy Elon is definitely an interesting subject & Walter Isaacson is brilliant. Great book. I read it straight through. #31by31 34/31 (edited) 13mo
intothehallofbooks Great review, thank you for it. I‘ve been curious about this one! 13mo
Twainy @intothehallofbooks it‘s not an expose but it‘s also not all positive. I like to read a nonfiction book every month and they mostly end up bios. I‘ve come across some really interesting subjects. 13mo
