“Or attention-getting”

#embarrassed My aunt taught at this school through a lot of the 80s and early 90s. My aunt who used the n-word until around 1990. Then she must have gotten some sensitivity training because she stopped until the past year when my mom has heard her use it a couple of times 😡🤦🏻‍♀️

It‘s so frustrating and upsetting that she is backsliding into racism.

HKGirl 😭😬😤 6y
cherinium Did you see the video of the 6 year old who was sent home on the first day of school for violating the school's hair policy? (I didn't catch where that occurred.) Absolutely disgusting! 6y
Megabooks @cherinium No, but that‘s ridiculous! 6y

I adore this series! The illustrations are stupendous! What really makes them great are the facial expressions of the dogs. In this book Zorro gets an outfit to wear and is embarrassed until he and Mister Bud meet another dog, Dart, at the park with an outfit who is great at racing, jumping and catching. Then it doesn‘t seem so bad wearing an outfit.

Wife My grandson and I love ❤️ Mister Bud and Zorro! Is this a new one? Stacked!!! 7y
ReadingRover @Wife I just got this one and Mister Bud Wears the Cone from the library. I‘m not sure which is newer. They‘re both fantastic though! 7y

Seeing as though I've signed The Kid up for another book exchange, I should probably post more of what she's reading.
Me: Anything you want the people of Litsy to know about this book?
The Kid: It's good for people who like lions and drawing because he drew good pictures.

I've never read Pride and Prejudice. Which may not be horrible... But I really want to read ELIGIBLE, the modern retelling of it and feel like it only makes sense to read the original first.

QUESTION! Are there any classics you are surprised/embarrassed to have not yet read? Confess here!

Megabooks So many! I haven't read P&P either. The Brontes, Hemingway, Orwell not read! #embarrassed I never took any English courses in college, so I don't have that foundation so many of you (and my mom) have. I may do a classics week on my blog. Thanks for the idea. 😃👍🏻 8y
OneLitChick @Ebooksandcooks I have many, too! But I was a lit minor in college and took advanced English classes in high school. My classics education was more contemporary: Steinbeck, Lee, Orwell, Buck, etc. 8y
BookMusings I don't feel bad about not having read any, because there are so damn many. People have entire blogs devoted to them. There are many I want to read, but I also want to keep up to date and there is so much awesome new stuff! A book I don't plan on ever reading: Moby Dick. 8y

OneLitChick @BookMusings There are s damn many. And stay away from Moby. I read him a couple of years ago... Don't ask me why. He's a dick and not worth the the time. 8y
Notafraidofwords So many. I haven't read Emma or Pride and Prejudice. 8y
LauraBeth I haven't read Anna Karenina - I don't know what I'm waiting for - it seems right up my alley 8y
OneLitChick @Notafraidofwords my unread list goes on and on and on.. 8y
OneLitChick @LauraBeth Anna Karenina is definitely on the list! 8y
JillMoore1226 So, so many! The Brontes, Jane Austen, Orwell, and def NOT Anna Karenina or War and Peace. Wait, I may have read Jane Eyre, but what feels like hundreds of years ago. 8y
