Dragon's Bait | Vivian Vande Velde

Realized yesterday as I started the tagged book on the elliptical at the gym that all three of my current reads were about dragons... to varying degrees. They‘re all pretty distinctive stories, so I‘m not worried about confusing them, but it‘s a sign how far I‘m falling into a fantasy comfort zone this month. #heretherebedragons 🐉🐉🐉

Packing up to #move and am going on some nostalgia trips.

Super glad I‘ve keep this book for all these years! I have a few of the others as well and I can‘t wait to introduce my child to them! #heretherebedragons

Olive and I spent last night with the first two books in the Kingdom of Wrenly series. It's a first chapter fantasy series set in a fairytale kingdom populated by magical creatures. Most of the first chapter books I encounter are realistic fiction (sometimes with one or two fantastic elements, like a talking pet) so it's nice to find high fantasy for this age. These are super popular at my library, too. #kidlit #heretherebedragons 🐉

I am fully prepared to have this book turn my world upside down and inside out in the wackiest of ways. Let's do this. #heretherebedragons #ARC #amreading #gabehudson #GorkTheTeenageDragon @penguinrandomhouse #rockon

Very much a mash-up of Jane Austen + Jonathan Strange. Slow start until I was pulled in by the ladies who cause the plot to ramp up. The magic/faery elements are amazing! Regency England's racism & sexism feels 'too real' for me in our current climate, but happily our #diverse MCs are sharp and kick bigotry's butt. A few annoyances, but overall happy to have finally read it! Some great surprises.

Dragons on my TBR: this is a book of short fictions by Anne McCaffrey in her Dragonriders of Pern universe and including drawings by Michael Whelan scattered throughout. I cannot explain why this has been on my TBR shelves for so long. Dragons must be read!

Dragon's Keep | Janet Lee Carey

Pickpick

This series by Janet Lee Carey is very compelling both for the world she creates around Wilde Island and the relationship between humans, dragons, and fae. I found the portrayal of dragons mesmerizing and the human stories engaging. And as I was posting this I see there is a book 3 now that I must get ASAP!
