I'm Cool! | Kate McMullan

2 days off but one day late ~ all 3 books were borrowed from Michigan libraries. My boys loved the other books by Kate & Jim McMullan and this one about the Zamboni is just as fun. Hopefully the grandkids appreciate my extroverted reading style. 🤪

Well, it‘s not the most upbeat winter book, but it is an important one because what will winter look like if it ends because of climate change?

I really enjoyed this engrossing book on a cold climate. It's a perfect winter read, especially if you're tucked up nice and warm. ❄️ 📖❄️

I loved this one. This is 12 short stories from the first 12 Doctors. My favorites were: Fairy Tale of New New York, The Red Bicycle and The Persistence of Memory.

The Frozen Thames | Helen Humphreys

I LOVE Helen Humphreys, and this collection does not disappoint.

"In its long history, the River Thames has frozen solid 40 times. These are the stories of that frozen river."

Forty moments frozen in time on the icy River, between 1142 and 1895, featuring everyone from royalty to everyday farmers, struggling, loving, and surviving in the cold and icy winter.

It's December, so I've given myself permission to double-dip as rampantly as I can. Here's #Glow and #Ice, in Emmy & Oliver.

My bookhaul from my trip to Canadian used and indie bookstores!
I am most excited for the tagged about the icefields parkway which I hiked all over during my trip, also one about the history of Queer folks in Canada -Queers Were Here, I have heard fantastic things about Indian Horse, and I picked up Tom Lake for $17cau!?! The States would never (the states only release in hardcover and it is so expensive to get new books here!)

Amiable Awesome haul! 7mo

(2015) U.S. Marine and bioterror specialist Joe Rush is sent to the arctic where the crew of a nuclear submarine have fallen ill with an unidentified sickness. But the Marines aren't the only ones interested: someone has been feeding information to the Chinese, who send a sub of their own. It's a pretty good technothriller, acknowledges the effects of warming on the arctic, and offers some difficult moral dilemmas.

ErinSBecker I really enjoyed this one and the second Joe Rush novel. As a microbiologist, they were satisfyingly on point with the symptomology. 11mo
swynn @ErinSBecker Oh, nice! It please me when I know an author gets the details right. My library has the first two books in the series, so I expect I'll read at least the next one. 11mo
