ncsufoxes I always have food allergy options (I have food allergies & I know how hard it is to not be able to eat half of your candy). Made Good mini granola bars are allergy safe. Mini bubbles were a huge hit at our house last year. Little kids & even the teens loved them. 1mo
TEArificbooks I have a toy bucket for the allergy kids and I give out books to trick or treaters (and the parents). 1mo
BarkingMadRead I have rubber ducks every year, they are so popular with all ages, allergies or not. 1mo

Bad news days call for new, used books for the teens on tweens on my street. America's in trouble, but I can share books. #lfl #read #middlegrade #ya

A great read about the impact of war, generational trauma, and the importance of human connection. Alternating perspectives of individuals in Las Vegas, centering the war in Iraq and the aftermath on soldiers and their families, as well as an immigrant family. In-depth inner dialogue and emotional lives of the featured characters who all struggle, but do their best. A great audio as well!

BarbaraBB I loved those one! 6mo

May 11, 2025 Happy Mother's Day to all the hardworking fearless strong compassionate mothers out there who do EVERYTHING for their kids. Today I am starting this TBR. I sort of started it but never finished it so I am re-reading it again.

A story within a story about welcoming different people into your country (and an immigrant perspective). Due to a language barrier, a king tries to show a group of refugees that his country is full by pouring a glass of milk. The refugees' leader uses a sugar cube (that dissolves in the milk) to show that their presence would make their country sweeter, and not cause issues. Thrity Umrigar, the author, is an Indian-American immigrant.

I heard about this from A Mighty Girl FB post this week. I found it at the local library and read it immediately. Loved it. There was a mom reading Halloween picture books to her three daughters. I gave a quick synopsis to her as I handed it off for them to enjoy. The mom was beaming and then I was too.

October 2, 2024 Still reading The Chinese Groove by Kathryn Ma but decided to visit one of my favorite bookstores, Green Apple, on Clement St because I wanted to see what they had. Came across these two gems and will be reading them soon...One of the books is a gift for my mom 🤪🧐🥳
