Brooklyn botanic garden does a Lightscape winter walk at night for a couple months every year. I love going and getting some hot chocolate (with baileys!) and wandering the exhibits.

I‘m a member and like doing walks around there any season tbh, it‘s so close to my apartment.

This happens to be all the time. I read a book, then at the end of it, I find out it's part of a series. The Vanished Days is the last book in this trilogy. The first book is The Winter Sea. The second is The Firebird. Now, I am going to have to go back and read the other two and then this one, again.

I enjoyed the love story, though it wasn't a book I couldn't put down or wait to pick up.

bookandbedandtea If it helps, it's a pretty loose trilogy. I don't think reading them out of order would matter much. 3mo

“From the first time I met them, they‘ve been on the knives,” he said, using the Russian expression for people who shared a dislike for each other.

I just LOVE this expression and plan to incorporate it into my life. I‘m on the knives with all kinds of people, it shouldn‘t be hard. 🤣

bookandbedandtea I've read this book a couple of times, as I love Kearsley, and this expression always jumps out at me. Enjoy incorporating it into your conversations! 11mo

It takes until chapter 8 or so to figure out how this is a sequel to The Winter Sea (and an irritably long time to get to the sexy Scottishness of it all) but now I‘m there and enjoying the next journey in this trilogy.
