Thanks to these Litsy folks for today‘s prompt:

FEELIN‘ THE LOVE

TODAY‘S PROMPT: LOVE/HATE PAIRING

The feud between the Lippmanns and the Cohens because of their bakery, Best Babka Bakery in Brooklyn, still continued after all of these years.

KISSING KOSHER was a delightful, entertaining read with some nice surprises. You will love all the characters.

1. That I have a job still. It‘s been rough.
2. My Arlo pup. He‘s been a pain in the a$$ lately but I love him.
3. My Izzy girl. She doesn‘t get enough love and attention and I hate that. Reason see 2.
4. My boy child. He‘s becoming an amazing young man, however he is still a 16 yr old boy that is a pain.
5. Litsy. Coming back here has helped ease my soul a little and taken me away from doom scrolling.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 Series of essays that make a compelling case for her thesis that people love dead Jews and stories of dead Jews more than they care about the lives of the living Jews. Learned a lot (e.g, that last name changes on arrival at Ellis Island is a myth) and thought about unlit I‘d never really had to confront as a non-Jew. I found the narration a little grating, but otherwise a definite pick.

Butterfinger That just breaks my heart. 2mo
arlenefinnigan Sounds harrowing, but vital. 2mo

This is a fantastic discussion about the intersection between being Jewish and being Black and the way the cultural landmarks of traditional food help define both. I‘m a huge fan of this author‘s work.

tpixie This made me recall that Sammy Davis Jr was the first Black Jewish person that I was aware of as a little girl. 2mo
