I just started reading The Bad Seed series to Jace this week. This is THE cutest series! This was my favorite page from this particular book - it‘s always great to see my favorite show, Mad Men, mentioned out in the wild. 😅 I would highly recommend this entire series and Jace really loved it as well. I love the artwork. #TheBadSeed #childrensbooks #MadMen #raisingreaders

GingerAntics I love all the pop culture references in those TV shows. 🤣😂🤣 6mo

Audiobooks are getting me through life right now. 😂 I‘m so glad I was able to catch up on a few reviews today, and I had a really great birthday weekend overall!

Best on top! Two fantastic short story collections and Hello Beautiful. The rest are in no particular order. #lazy 😉 The Exceptions was a great look at sexism in STEM academia, but it got a bit long. The Lipman was some fun 🧠🍭, but the Shapiro was really hard/dark. #BookReport

Cinfhen Yay for audiobooks!! There are a few on there I‘ve been eyeing 👀 2y

This book is about a boy that loved to stay inside and do nothing but play video games. He never wanted to go outside or do anything else besides play his games. However, one day he is unable to play his video games because he loses power. He is forced to find something else to occupy him. He ends up going outside and realizing how much fun it is to do things other than playing video games all day.

channingfortney I think this is a great book to read to young children as well as middle childhood children. I feel as though many kids are computer and iPad kids these days and have never experienced the fun that is had when playing outside and being imaginative. 2y

The Couch Potato | Jory John

The Couch Potato by Jory John is a great children's book about a Couch Potato that has everything he could ever need in arm's reach but will not get up off the couch. This story is great for young children about determination and the benefits of getting active and being outside.

Published in 2020, this story became an immediate New York times best seller. This is a story about a young potato who only enjoys playing video games. When his power goes out he is forced to find something else to entertain him. He goes outside and gets to explore the world and find beauty in little things other than video games. He ends up enjoying it and says that he is going to continue to do this more often.

kallikramer I think this is a great story to read to children because in todays world many students go home and play video games in their free time instead of going out and exploring and playing. I think this story has a great message that all students should hear about how there is so much more to life than just video games. 2y

The Couch Potato was written by Jory John and illustrated by Pete Oswald. The illustrations are adorable. The potato characters are super cute and fun. In addition, I really like the cartoon look. This story is about how it is okay to get out of your comfort zone and do/try new things.
