“Originally written in Dutch and told through Roya‘s eyes, this award-winning book is funny, sweet and touching. Readers will enjoy the playful moments between Roya, her brothers, and Mishka, particularly as Roya discovers Mishka‘s unique way of expressing deep comfort and security.“ Read more about this USBBY Outstanding International Book here: https://wowlit.org/on-line-publications/review/xvii-2/7/

Wow. Fantastic way to advertise the dangers of pollution, industrialization, and business that harms the environment to a young audience. And that‘s an abrupt ending that leaves a great impact rather than an unfinished one.

Since I am currently reading a series and after that am reading a strongly recommended book, I decided to roll my #bookspin result as the next in line, whether or not I actually get to it this month. It‘s unlikely, but I‘ll just keep adding to the list each time! My #doublespin is also underlined, but I won‘t be putting it on the next-up list.

BooksandCoffee4Me Hi! Being new, I‘m curious- what is the card swap? 4w
Chrissyreadit @BooksandCoffee4Me Welcome to Litsy! Are you following @LitsyEvents ? @TheBookHippie coordinates card swaps for the seasons- and often people include a poem, stickers sometimes bookmarks- it‘s a fun way to connect with each other. Keep an eye out for the next one. 4w
Chrissyreadit @TheBookHippie I could have sworn it did tbh and do not know why it‘s not on my shelf- but I could have sworn I opened it- then thought maybe i was wrong…. I will let you know if/when I figure out the mystery! 4w

Pickpick

Anybody else read children‘s books when needing a pallet cleanser. I picked up a couple children‘s books last year as a way to catch up on my reading goal, but I realize that it help with my reading slumps as well. It‘s also been a challenge as I look specifically for books with a Gothic theme and some of the ones I found have been so fun. Boris and Bella was definitely my favorite out of the three, but they were all good.

PatriciaU If you like spooky, try Lora Senf‘s The Clackity and others. So good! Also, Katherine Ardens Small Spaces books are great! 1mo
MariaW I went through the whole Bunnicula series in a rather stressful period last year. 1mo
