pickThey way this story unfolded was interesting. It is a look at the struggle to be free and what that ultimately means. But it also shines a spotlight on the nature of mankind, and the struggles with power and corruption that seem to plague humans. Overall I liked it. It did leave me with questions about what happens going forward with certain characters.

Loving this one, one of those “oh yes please” $2 thrift books. The Eye of the Heron is classic Le Guin and thoroughly rewarding, also very much enjoyed the lovely ‘Phoenix in the Ashes‘ by Joan D. Binge.
pickA delightful tale of a group of pacifists on a world run by gangsters. While there is drama and tragedy, it is a tale overall of faith and hope. This is one of my favorite authors of the 20th century.
