Gorgeous cover, cute title, liked the mooncake contest storyline idea. The rest was just meh. Theo was a dick, and there was no chemistry between them. Took me ages to read because I kept falling asleep a few pages after picking it up.

Benny, trying to find a place for himself in NYC, instead finds himself helping a Coney Island sideshow capture a merman. Only, when he starts connecting w/ the merman, Benny must decide what his new family is worth.

I really enjoyed this! It‘s a very slow start, setting up all the fun side characters & the show, but it‘s worth it when the plot really kicks in. & NYC was such a fantastically detailed setting. I did predict the twist. 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌑

Interesting fantasy world where you decide what gender you will be and where a magic know as slackcraft is practised. The story is about twins Mokoya and Akeha born to the Protector.

Interesting storyline, I just checked for book 2 in the series but it‘s not available in my library! 😩 Might purchase it as it ended without really resolving some things.

Jess, having recently moved to Malaysia w/ her parents, starts hearing a voice in her head that claims to be her grandmother who needs help w/ some unfinished business. Only then Jess gets mixed in w/ a god, gangsters, & family secrets.

I really loved the world building & the fantastical elements in this. But there was something about how Jess & Ah Ma‘s relationship shifted that bugged me. & this got much darker than I usually enjoy.🌕🌕🌕🌗🌑

Before coffee, before Thune, before retirement, Viv is a mercenary waiting to heal while her band moves against a necromancer. Relaxing in a small sea side town should be easy, right?

I adored this prequel! Seeing Viv‘s backstory was lovely, Fern & her bookstore were a delight, & Satchel was hilarious. It felt a little too quickly resolved, & the epilogue felt a bit sequel bait, but overall I really enjoyed this! Even the romance! 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌑

Set on Preservation, MuderBot helps to investigate a murder of a human who‘s body is dumped at a mall.

Always love a MurderBot novel but this one wasn‘t quite as good as the previous one. Hearing about MurderBot‘s interactions with ART was my favourite parts of the previous novels and this novel was a bit too much focused on interacting with humans who don‘t trust it. Still worth a read if you‘re reading the series.

Dark Lord Davi now has the unenviable position of convincing her Horde to not actually kill all the humans, please & thank you? While trying to broker peace, Davi also begins to come to terms with her past & learns why she‘s here in the 1st place.

Liked this MUCH more than 1! Still funny, raunchy & violent, but Davi‘s character growth is great, her relationship w/ Tsav is wonderful. Wish there was more of the side characters from 1.🌕🌕🌕🌕🌗

Clem & Cris are twins dealing w/ untold troubles: the death of their father, their mother sick, their family reputation lost, & a widening gap between them. When they learn that something else may be behind that, they‘ll have to work together to figure it out.

W/ unnecessary POV chapters, uneven pacing, & too many characters, I wasn‘t completely sold. But I was fascinated by the sibling relationship & the magic system through the end.🌕🌕🌗🌑🌑

Interesting read about some bandits who are joined by a nun on their escapes. I found the language a little stilted and the word choice odd in places.

Read early for June #QueerBC! My Libby hold came in before expected.
