Good. Takes an in-depth look at not just the final days and death of Marilyn Monroe but her whole life. Even though I enjoyed this there were some chapters that I skipped due to information that I felt just dragged the story down and wasn't relevant. Also sometimes during chapters that I did read some parts felt like it was also going off on tangents.

This was a really good read. At times I felt desperately sad for her, and, depressingly, I could relate a little to her mental health struggle. I realised I knew shockingly little about her life and death, and the author's investigation was fascinating. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

This book was haunting to read. Whilst is not a new release it was new to me and this #chunkster enthralled me. What makes this book about this woman different from others it's her own narrative. Truly recommend this one if you're looking to read a nonfiction title. #bookspin @thearomaofbooks

This well-researched and exhaustive biography on screen legend Marilyn Monroe by Donald Spoto (who passed away this past February) was released back in 1993. While he doesn't wallow in the gossip and speculation that surrounded her, he does debunk many of these myths.
Marilyn's career spanned 16 years & 29 films and while I would have liked more behind-the-scenes of her films, I definitely came away respecting her even more than I did before.

First published about a decade after her death, this felt like I was reading Marilyn Monroes's personal diary. In it she recounts her early childhood, her views on men and women, the industry and it's inability to take her seriously as an actress, her one-sided "feud" with Joan Crawford (my favorite part), her marriage to Joe DiMaggio and abruptly ends around the time she married Arthur Miller.

Well that gave me chills....

Just wow. The world has a certain view of this woman but behind the gorgeous face was a girl with serious mental/emotional issues. The people close to Norma Jean failed her in an epic way. My heart broke for the girl who was lost, hurting, lonely, objectified and starving for unconditional love.

Marilyn still #mesmerizes people today with her beauty and talent... Her untimely death, unstable childhood, and battle with depression have always been interesting to me.
