This was going to be 5 ⭐️s with the unique lore and world building; the characters were so relatable and I was SO invested in them and their struggles. Then that ending comes and punches you right in the chest. I felt like the ending took away the whole point of the story. If there‘s ever a sequel, I will absolutely rush to snatch it up because I need closure. 😅🤣

pickI really enjoyed this one. It took a while for there to be any real action, and while that usually causes me to disengage with the story, I didn‘t have that happen with this one. The characters sucked me in, and I found them extremely likable even when they were being stupid. The dynamics between them were intense and the overall plot was exciting. The narrator did a fantastic job too. Another enjoyable read/listen from Silvia Moreno-Garcia!
I‘m taking a 4 hour road trip to my hometown tomorrow to help my sister with some personal matters… this listen is 8 hours long so it‘s just enough to keep me company during the whole commute. I‘ve read a couple of other books by Silvia Moreno-Garcia, and I loved them, so expectations are high 🤗
