I have pretty #mixed feelings. The author has an amazing unique perspective and writes on a wide array of topics. I find her insight and personal experience with autoimmunity especially fascinating. But as an immunologist, I find some of her takes on the subject off-base. My favorite aspect was the illustrations by Xander Marro.

When I was still a children's bookseller, my daughter-in-law's sister was looking for a good picture book for her kids. When this came in, I had to get it for her. Beautiful book. #marchintoreading #diversepicturebooks

The whole book feels like an observation, of friendship, of connection, of race and sociopolitical status; the narrator hovering above these situations, giving us insight, but with a sense of uncertainty that doesn't allow the reader to feel grounded.
