Uggghh...I don‘t know what‘s wrong with me 😞 I know I have to get my library book read within 11days or it will go back & I‘ll have to wait on it....again (it‘s The Alienist by Caleb Carr). But I‘m sooo unmotivated & feel like I‘m in a slump 😔I think I‘m nervous I won‘t like it & nervous I won‘t get it finished in time, bc I feel like I‘m in a slump 😫 This is not a good place to be atm 😣

WarpedSweetness I feel you. I've been in a reading slump since October. I've just been reading MC and alien romances. 6y
SandyW Reading should be something you reward yourself with. If the book goes back, you can get back in the hold queue 6y
SandyW .... (Damned send button right by the backspace key). If out takes a while that might be the time you need to get interested in the book again. 6y

HelloImJez This is how I feel right now too. But I'm so determined to overcome it I've been somehow forcing myself to read. Good luck! 6y
bentchbites Agh. This is me right nowww. It might be the nerves bec im starting in a new job, but i want to get my reading mojo back! (edited) 6y
eanderson I'm in that right now! I hate that feeling! 6y
susanw It‘s the worst feeling. The guilt because you‘re not reading or feeling it. Maybe set aside all books, binge watch a show or two or movie marathon a series. Then go back to reading something way outside your normal. It will eventually pass. It happens to us all. 6y
Scurvygirl This was me in September and October, I returned 5 library books unread that I had each renewed. I just wasn‘t feeling it. It passed in November with no hard feelings.😜 6y
KellyK Seems like I read, read, and read some more from January through August and then I hit a wall... this year I've scaled the wall with audiobooks! 6y
BooksAtNight Don‘t pressure yourself! The book will always be there when you are ready. Plus, if your library tracks checkouts for funding purposes, you are helping them by returning the book and checking it out again in the future. Read (or do) something you enjoy instead. 6y
Samantha.1020 Read something else - the best part about library books is you can always check them out again 😁 When I‘m in a slump I turn to a favorite series or reread a favorite instead. Good luck! 6y
benchley1 Sometimes you have to be in a certain mood to read a book. If you don't feel like reading it, you won't enjoy it 6y
MiyakoBunny I hear you *hugs* 🖤🖤🖤🖤 6y
ThatNerdyBookwyrm I started it and have fallen in love with the book so far. It‘s pretty intense right away. I put it on hold for the time being because Grandpa Gilmore (rip 😭) recorded the audio so I‘m waiting for it to come from Overdrive. 6y
Bookladylinda Ugh!! I have been there quite a few times this year. 6y

WarpedSweetness @Chrysta23 Being a new mom can put a damper on anything! I would definitely give yourself time and just try to not read for a while. I found that doing that helped me when I was new SAHM. 6y
