First Snow | Bomi Park

Our first snow fall on the peninsula this season. A few inches, nothing crazy. Definitely the latest first snow since we've been here (we usually see snow before Halloween 😋). I'm hoping for a quite, cozy weekend huddled indoors reading.

JenReadsAlot Nope too soon. Lol 2mo
Leftcoastzen I get it yet , it‘s still 81 in Az . Some people are fans , me not so much. 😁 2mo

KT1432 This looks dreamy! - From south Texas, where we get no snow (okay, maybe once every 5 or so years lol) 2mo

Dilara Nice! And so clear... I thought of photographing the moon in the sunset the other day (it was so pretty!), but decided against because my phone is definitely not up to the task 😊 3mo

This can be a story used to help evoke feelings of calmness in the classroom due to its repetitive lines and simple illustrations

The House in the Night | Susan Marie Swanson, Beth Krommes
Mehso-so

This story is unique in the way that it is illustrated with many horizontal and vertical lines, using all black and white besides a few hints of yellow, representing the light throughout the story. The stark images represent the calm, dark, nighttime scene and rhythmic story.

Pickpick

Very sparse text. What lovely lights you can see in the summertime. Green gold white in county fairs, carnivals. Nothing on fireworks on Independence Day/Fourth of July which doesn‘t always bring happy thoughts for those it rang hollow for. Shauntay Grant teaches creative writing at Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia so Canadian not from the US.

Perfect for children drawn to pretty, colorful drawings.

Another recommendation from The Book Drop.

lil1inblue @dabbe Oops, did I inadvertently throw my cool weather in your face again? 😅😉 Just kidding, of course. Perhaps your version would be reading by a fan or air conditioner! 😂 6mo
TheBookHippie @dabbe we get cold overnight generally in Michigan -but lately all bets are off it‘s so nutty here this season… climate change. 6mo
dabbe @TheBookHippie Climate change??? Are you kidding me? 😂 to 😓. 6mo
JenlovesJT47 God yes! I‘d rather stay up til 4 am reading than tossing and turning. ♥️♥️♥️ 6mo
AnnCrystal 👸👏🏼🥳👌🏼💝...must be beautiful, serene atmosphere to read ✨📚💖. 6mo
lil1inblue @TheBookHippie We have highs in the 80s this week, and then it's supposed to dip to 60 by Monday. 🙃 Nighttime has been pretty steady in the 50s, but who knows if/when we'll get a hot spell that will ruin it. 6mo
TheBookHippie @lil1inblue we are 80s for a bit with 60 at night- although they are saying could be 90 Saturday & Sunday. 6mo
