This is a reread for me and an excellent palate cleanser after T.C. Boyle‘s Outside Looking In. I have a friend who lives out of state and we started “ buddy reads” about a year ago. This was her choice for Labor Day. I read this book when it was first published. It is just as good the second time around.
The recent Olympics & this Netflix series we are watching inspired my son to buy this book for us. In its chapters the author attempts to write about people & events “through the eyes of those who were part of the mighty drama, both locals and foreigners.” I am fascinated! #Olympics #Paris #Paris1944 #historymajorsinthehouse
Isn‘t it nice to know we‘re all gold medalists? 🥇😄

#Olympics24 I know they are not book related but there are so many stories, so many moments of triumph and heartbreak. I love it all.
Please feel free to add your comments about the Olympics. I will post any comments with results under a spoiler so as not to ruin anything before you have a chance to watch.
