I flew through this book, but not because I liked it. This is a painful read. I wanted to take Ndani‘s face between my hands and tell her not all whites are horrible...that not all Christians act like Dona Deolinda. I got a bit lost in the middle of the book, but eventually figured out what was happening. Not sure if it was me or the translation. Probably me. Part of my #Passportreading2018 challenge. #GuineaBissau
Starting this as part of my #PassportReading2018 I am doing 12 books this year. This is my 4th book.
I love used books. Especially those that have sweet notes written inside. I hope Susie loved it. Starting this today as part of my #Passportreading2018
Hungry Devils: And Other Tales from Vanuatu isn‘t in @Litsy database. This is the first book of my #PassportReading2018. Written by a missionary, it chronicles his life in the spiritual darkness of Vanuatu, where headhunters once roamed. I found him insightful, respectful and careful in his dealing with other cultures. Highly recommend both for the stunning descriptions and missionary insights.
Slogging through this as part of my #PassportReading2018 - I shortened my challenge to 12 books. It‘s good, but and I‘m taking my time. #Bangladesh
Aaand another #TBRbingo bites the dust! Now all I have to finish is my #TBRKindle bingo card.
