Nothing settles you down other than your peace of mind
I don‘t see why this only have to focus on women, since men overthink just as much as women do. Also, for a book this short, it had too many case stories, which were beyond stereotypical. I needed more science, less stories.
As a worrier, this book was a really helpful read. The author served as a missionary in Eastern Europe for many years and I loved hearing her stories from that time. It helped put some things into better perspective.
Practicing thankfulness can be so hard. This section was really convicting and gave me a good place to start in kicking off 2020 right!
I love this collection and plan to get a few more of his books. I'll be rereading these every year. I can't explain how I felt reading them. His words were simple and seemed like common sense, but why couldn't I understand these concepts before? I think the answer is in these very pages, that I was believing what society taught me. It's going to take time, but I'm putting the Four Agreements to practice.
