I finished my first book for the #WinterReadathon and the #Gingerathon Melanie's brother impulsively buys a run-down Christmas tree farm sight unseen. When they all go to inspect the land they find a body. Was it an accident or murder? Melanie and Aunt Peg are determined to find out. I like this cozy mystery series. It is also my #BookSpin book. @Andrew65 @GHABI4ROSES @DieAReader @Allylu @TheAromaofBooks

This is the 28th installment in the melon is a Melanie Travis mystery series peris 3 series. 28!! Hokey Pete's, I've been reading this cozy mystery series for a long time😲 In this Easter addition, Melanie is conned into giving up her Spring break to help her thorny Aunt Rose pull off an Easter egg hunt. When a body tumbles down the stairs, up everything else ends up in the air. Melanie tries to unravel the mystery and tie up (cont in comments)

TheHeartlandBookFairy the loose ends as she always does. What's missing in this book is the presence of Aunt Peg and and their appearances at dog shows. Although Peg is there, she's much more in the background than usual. I missed reading more about her strong presence and the dog shows. Still a fun quick read but I hope the next book features more of Peg and dog shows. 3y
Pageturner1 beautiful dog❤️, I haven‘t heard of this series but I will pit it on my list. 3y

Gaston! 🦴 This MF, RA book is another story with a great meaning behind it. This book has an overall theme of family differences and acceptance. The story is about a dog named Gaston who looks a little different then the rest of his dog family. One day at the park he switches families with one that looked like him. In the end, it just didn‘t feel right for Gaston. Despite their differences, he knew he belonged with the family he grew up with.

acassatta The UDL principle 3.1-highlight patterns, critical features, and relationships fits well with the book, Gaston. We can notice a lot of alliteration within this book as well as relationships between all the dogs. Furthermore, ESOL strategy #14-simplify your speech by making it sow and redundant would be ideal for this book because of the similar lettering and alliteration throughout. The following website takes you to the authors website where... 4y

PatriciaS I love this book, great read aloud for students to relate differences and acceptance of others differences, and celebrate their own and their families. I love animals 💞 dogs are great and a great way to show a family and relationships with others. Thank you for the author's website information too. 4y
Spearsall Yay thank you for this review I‘ve been wanting to see a description on it! The way you described it this book seems AMAZING and I need it in my and my future students lives. This is just one little portion of SEL but I can tell this book will go a long way in any child‘s life. Perfect UDL principle applied as well 🐶 4y
DrSpalding Excellent summary and excellent alignment. Using the author website is a very wise choice. 4y

“Gaston“ written by Kelly DiPucchio and illustrated by Christian Robinson.

This heartwarming story of Gaston the bulldog and his poodle family examines themes of belonging, individuality, and the idea of what it means to be family.

ToddSalerno Since this is a fantastic read aloud book, here is a video that can be utilized for virtual learning. The reader helps students understand the text as she reads (UDL 2.1-Clarify vocabulary and symbols). In working through vocabulary, the reader also uses comprehension check techniques (ESOL 6-Continually monitor students‘ comprehension).
