A delightful YA. Darcy runs an anonymous relationship advice service that is very successful until, of course, it blows up in her face. She is such a real, messy teenager, who makes mistakes and fails to see things clearly, but she's also smart and has a lot of heart. I loved the bi representation (I don't think I've seen internalized biphobia as a romance obstacle before?). Character growth! Romantic! Lovely side trans girl character! Funny!

Onto another #audiobook to keep me awake and occupied while breastfeeding my newborn!

I'd have a crush on the kingdom's only lady knight too if I were Gwendolyn! This is interesting so far although I'm a little iffy on the voice actor for Arthur; hopefully he wins me over. The actor for Gwen is great.

Finished this while my baby played w/ her blocks! There's a lot of set up in this 1st volume about a dystopian high school on the moon for delinquent students; the plot doesn't get going until near the end. But aesthetically & artistically I loved this so much I didn't care. It feels simultaneously futuristic yet retro, punk and outer space influenced. The dialogue is sharp and funny. I can't wait to see where the three girls go in the next book!

Blurry bathtub candlelight photo of a new #queerYA I'm starting! I really liked Tess Sharpe's last book, which was a thriller, so I'm interested to see what I think of this one, which is a romance.

Clare-Dragonfly I love the title 😆 great fandom trope call-out! 2y

I wrote a kind of combined review of both of Ciara Smyth's YA books for Autostraddle: https://www.autostraddle.com/ciara-smyths-queer-ya-books-remind-me-of-being-a-te....

Both are as hilarious as they are moving, with a very authentic and empathetic feel to her queer teenage characters. Not My Problem is laugh-out-loud funny, make-you-cry sad, and everything in between. I loved it! #QueerBooks #LGBTQBooks #LGBTQ #QueerYA

Johanna414 I have Not My Problem in my library at work - moving it up on my list! 2y

Ciara Smyth is so funny. One of the best YA authors writing today, imho. You can tell she is really is in touch with contemporary teens (she is also a social worker).

Like Other Girls | Britta Lundin

I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS BOOK! There is a lot going on in Like Other Girls – effortlessly and deftly balanced, by the way – but at its core it's a story about a closeted butch lesbian teen struggling with and overcoming internalized misogyny. Also: lots of football, female friendship and solidarity, swoony romance, intergenerational queer mentorship, masculine of centre gender expression, anger management, and a whole lot of personal growth.
