However, they set out bravely, and took the line that seemed most promising, holding on to each other and pretending with invincible cheerfulness that they recognized an old friend in every fresh tree that grimly and silently greeted them, or saw openings, gaps, or paths with a familiar turn in them, in the monotony of white space and black tree-trunks that #refused to vary. #QuotsyApr19 #refuse

CouronneDhiver I like this one... old memories 6y

#QuotsyApr19 Day 12: Better to submit, than to #refuse. This novel was immensely disturbing - but the TV series with its darkness, leisurely pace, and gradual build up was in so many ways, superior as well. A novel that would definitely remain with the reader for quite some time.

LikelyLibrarian I felt the same way, about this book and about Dark Places. The book was my favorite Flynn and the movie was really good too 6y
