The threads of magic are tightly spun, binding princess and exiled spinners into a desperate plot to break the curse before the demon can become a queen of men. But the web of power is dangerously tangled--and they may not see the true pattern until it is unspooled.

Celine's life is the stuff fairy tales are made of. She's beautiful, talented, and brave. Unfortunately, her tale comes complete with a wicked stepmother! When Violet steps into Celine's life, everything changes and weird things begin to happen to her—bizarre accidents, strange illnesses, and rabid animal attacks.

1843 is “the last year of the world” — according to Elias Fitcher, a charismatic preacher in upstate NY. Determined to spend Eternity as a married man, he sets his eye on the three young daughters of one of his devout followers.
This reimagining of the Bluebeard tale was so good. It‘s a very dark story that I would highly recommend to dark fantasy lovers.

It‘s almost time for February‘s #bookspin drawing! Wonder which of these will be chosen this month? I know for sure I‘ll be reading The Trauma Cleaner and The Immortalists for bookclubs, and I‘ve started Crossings already.

Mehso-so

It was a little boring, not much happened until the end. Since this is historical fiction, I wasn't surprised by the fact that I got bored with it. Historical fiction just is not my genre. I thought the story itself was okay, nothing overly special. I do plan to read the next book in the series. Hopefully, I will enjoy that one a little more than this one.
