Swing: A Mystery | Rupert Holmes
Mehso-so

A grieving jazz man unravels a series of baffling events in 1940s San Francisco. You have to like music to enjoy this rather simple story. The audio book has a noir edge to the narration that was unearned. It calls itself a mystery but is more of a detective story. You could read this, but or you could read something better.

I‘ve never read a Kate Quinn book I didn‘t like! This was a unique setting and time period to her other books and I enjoyed reading more about the San Francisco earthquake of 1906. I also enjoyed how Quinn and Chang wrote two different perspectives, better filling out the multiple facets of this time and place. Definitely recommend! 🌟🌟🌟🌟

MaGoose I read this book earlier this month and thought it was fabulous.👌 Having a group of strong women protagonists made this story so interesting. 😍 9h

Loved this! It's set in San Francisco at the time of the 1906 earthquake.

This is my favorite book of Quinn's that I've read (haven't read them all yet) and the first of Chang's that I've read (will be reading more).

The cropping feature on this is horrible! Anyways, Book 6 for 2025, was a book I saw ads for on social media and reading the blurb it peeked my interests. The granddaughter of a convicted serial killer is wrapped in an investigation when new killings resemble the style of her grandfather. Cue in dysfunctional family relationships (marital and familial) and you have a tidy, cozy mystery! 4 ⭐️

Well written ode to parts of the City by the Bay and to its history. Great addition to the many books about it by someone who knows it well.

This was a really good book but is there anything narrated by Marin Ireland that she doesn‘t make better??

This is cute. I mean there's serial killers and stuff. But it's pretty fluffy regardless.
