Finished a lot of books in September so far and haven‘t reviewed any of them!

Finished this first week of September. Tough love story and background but somehow they make it through it and has a happy ending.

This had a lot of potential, with some lovely writing and a fun background of working in a television writers' room. But I got intensely bored with the endless sex scenes and could really have used seeing more of the characters falling in love -- especially since they have huge strikes against them. The relationship ultimately comes off as co-dependent, especially for the male main character, who gets less growth.

Faranae Well, that screenshot sure conveys just how endless the sex scenes must be. 😂 4mo
willaful @Faranae I like to add a touch of whimsy. 😜 4mo

Mehso-so

July 1, 2025 Romance books tend to be pretty obvious in terms of the order of events and the ending. As I got closer to the end, I could tell that it was not just "Summer in the City". It was a "summer forever". My predictions were correct. Even though they hated each other earlier and pretended to like one another, they ended up together forever and forgiving each other. Love is whatever way you interpret it ✌?

July 1, 2025 Ok I lied haha On page 263 is a quote that I think really resonates with human beings: "It's not just about control. It's about pride, it's about me. I wanted to buy it with my own work, on my own terms. You took that from me. You - you don't even understand why that means something to me."
