My #bookhaul from our weekend trip to Boston and a stop at the Brattle Book Shop: three nonfiction reads (a book about pandemics, one about conjoined twins, and the third about George Washington and the Newburgh conspiracy) and a classic. 👍🏼

Amiable I feel like @ljuliel might be intrigued by the tagged book? Don‘t know why —maybe because you like quirky nonfiction as much as I do? 🧐 5y
ljuliel Thank you for the tag. Yes, I‘m always interested in the quirky books, unusual titles or characters. I‘m not as much into the bestsellers list, but more odd books that don‘t get as much notice. I‘ll check it out ! 5y
LeahBergen Great haul! 5y

Pickpick

I enjoyed this memoir that blends the story of the author‘s season in a traveling sideshow act with her mother‘s life after a serious stroke. The way the two parts were woven together worked well, but I did enjoy the stories about the sideshow more. It‘s not something I ever really felt the need to learn, but it was interesting. I also enjoyed the bits of history she included (see the comments for my favorite).

I started this month‘s @litsybookclub pick on my way to work this morning and continued listening on my evening walk. I didn‘t quite know what to expect from the blurb, but so far I‘m intrigued by the stories of joining the sideshow.

Daisey @BarbaraTheBibliophage I think I saw your review when I shelved it on a Goodreads last night. I'm really enjoying the stories of the sideshow so far! 5y

My library haul. The electric woman is this month‘s @litsybookclub selection. And I can‘t wait to watch the movie as I loved the book!!

alisiakae I watched the movie recently, it was good! 5y
Graciouswarriorprincess @4thhouseontheleft If it‘s anything like the book, I will love it. I am also sure that I will cry as I did when I was reading the book! 5y
CaramelLunacy I liked the movie, but thought the book was better - just because it pieced together so many other connections 5y
Graciouswarriorprincess @CaramelLunacy I haven't watched the movie yet but hoping that I like it. The book is always better. :) 5y
